MES organizes Farid-e-Millat Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025

Minhaj Education Society's Farid-e-Millat Scholarship Ceremony

Addressing the 16th annual Farid-e-Millat Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025 organized by Minhaj Education Society (MES), its Chairman, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, emphasized the importance of accessible education, character building, and the need for educational reforms on a national level. He stated that MES consistently presents its proposals for educational improvements to influential stakeholders and policymakers in Pakistan.

He highlighted that providing equal opportunities in the education sector is the true foundation of progress and the key to a nation's survival and stability.

Speaking on the significance of the Urdu language, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that one of the primary reasons for educational decline in Pakistan is the increasing distance from the national language, Urdu.

“Urdu is not just a language; it symbolizes our civilization, culture, and national identity,” he remarked.

He demanded that serious steps must be taken at curricular, media, and domestic levels to reconnect the younger generation with Urdu. He also pointed out that although Urdu was declared the official language in the 1973 Constitution, it has not been implemented in practice even after more than 50 years.

Dr. Qadri mentioned that developed countries such as Japan, Korea, China, France, and Turkey prioritize their national languages, which is a major reason behind their progress. Regrettably, our younger generation is becoming increasingly detached from Urdu, while our curricula and even parents are shifting focus towards other languages. “The true key to development lies in staying connected with one’s language, culture, and identity,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri proudly shared that all MES-affiliated schools have adopted Urdu as the primary medium of instruction, enabling students to remain rooted in their language, history, and culture. He called this vision a precursor to an intellectual and academic revolution.

“If Urdu is not given its rightful place, we risk losing our national identity in the coming decades,” he warned, urging the implementation of Urdu as a national, academic, and official language in the true sense to preserve the heritage for future generations.

Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri congratulated the entire team of Minhaj Education Society for their dedication, which has resulted in a wide and successful network of Minhaj schools across the country.

Renowned intellectual and columnist Orya Maqbool Jan addressing the event, stated that the unique hallmark of Minhaj-ul-Quran institutions is their pure, refined, and uplifting environment, which sets them apart from others.

Prof. Dr. Faleha Kazmi, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning at Lahore College for Women University, paid tribute to the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, for his contributions to the promotion of education.

On this occasion, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri awarded special prizes and certificates of appreciation to the top-performing scholarship-winning students and their institutions.
The ceremony was attended by Registrar of Minhaj University Prof. Dr. Khurram Shehzad, Dr. Ali Waqar Qadri, Shoaib Tahir, Shehzad Rasool, Saifullah Bhatti, Atiq-ur-Rehman, along with heads of various Minhaj-ul-Quran departments, students of MES-affiliated schools, and a large number of parents.

Scholarships worth millions of rupees were distributed among hundreds of high-achieving students from across Pakistan. Teachers of the top-performing schools were also honored with shields and certificates. Students showcased their creative and constructive talents through national songs, tableau performances, and skits, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Parents and students expressed their deep appreciation for Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri for providing affordable and quality education and prayed for his health and well-being. Dr. Ali Waqar Qadri (Director, MES) and Shoaib Tahir (Director of Operations, MES) welcomed the guests in their addresses and provided a briefing on the educational services of Minhaj Education Society.
