Over 800 Billion Salawat (Durood) Recited at Gosha-e-Durood of Minhaj-ul-Quran
At the Gosha-e-Durood (Chamber of Blessings) established at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, a total of 883,709,320 recitations of Durood-e-Pak (Salutations upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ) were offered during the month of April 2025. These were presented in honor of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The Gosha-e-Durood was established in 2005 by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. A 21-member group continuously offers Durood daily while observing voluntary fasting. Every ten days, a new 21-member group replaces the previous one to continue the practice.
Since its inception in 2005, a staggering total of 801,978,089,777 Salawat have been recited in this chamber.
The structure of Gosha-e-Durood is modeled after the shrine of the great Sufi master Maulana Rumi and is considered a state-of-the-art architectural masterpiece.
Sub-branches of the central Gosha-e-Durood, known as Halqa-e-Durood (Circles of Blessings), have been established across Pakistan and worldwide. In every city of Pakistan, these circles exist even at the Union Council level. These circles organize gatherings of Salawat, and the recitations are counted toward the total presented at the central Gosha-e-Durood.
