Real Purpose of Worldly Life is Preparation for the Hereafter: Allama Rana Idrees

Rana Idrees Qadri Addressing Khutba Jummah in Jamia Shaykh ul islam

Addressing the Friday congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam on the topic of the Hereafter and reflection on it, Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, stated that the true purpose of this worldly life is to prepare for the Hereafter. Salvation and success in the Hereafter depend entirely on the short and temporary life one lives in this world. Whatever a person does in this world determines their outcome in the next life.

He explained that Allah has sent human beings into this world as a test. From birth to death, every stage of life is a trial. A person's intellect, insight, wealth, time, and abilities are all tested to see whether they are used for the pleasure of Allah or wasted in pursuit of worldly desires.

Citing the example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), he said that even at a young age, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) recognized the falsehood of the system of shirk (polytheism). While his entire nation was engaged in idol worship, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) broke the idols and raised the banner of Tawheed (monotheism). Not only did he speak out against shirk, but he also set a profound example of divine understanding. His sacrifices and unwavering faith remain a guiding light for the believers until the Day of Judgment.

Allama Rana Idris urged that people should not become lost in the love of this world but instead raise the word of truth and strive for divine awareness, as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) did. The one who fulfills the rights of others, upholds justice, and follows the path laid out by Allah is the one who will succeed in the Hereafter.

In conclusion, he advised the Muslim Ummah to prioritize obedience to Allah’s commands over temporary worldly comforts and interests.
