"If There Is Faith, There Is Safety” – Parents Must Instill this in Their Children: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri
Shaykh-ul-Islam Addresses Muslim Families in Glasgow on “Faith and the Family”
Protecting the Morals and Character of Future Generations Means Protecting Islam and Faith
The founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has stated that aligning Muslim societies with education and moral training to counter ethical decline is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Safeguarding the morals and character of future generations essentially means preserving their faith and religion.
Shaykh-ul-Islam was speaking at a special training session for Muslim families in Glasgow, organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International, on the topic “Faith and the Family.” A large number of Muslim families attended the event.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized that the process of strengthening faith begins within the four walls of the home. Parents must understand their profound responsibility in this regard. The shaping of a child's personality and their training in piety and purity should begin at an early age.
He said: “Parents should not teach their children the slogan ‘Life is everything,’ but instead instill in them the belief that ‘If there is faith, there is safety.’ With faith comes honor—without it, there is only loss.”
He stressed that Minhaj-ul-Quran is establishing centers of knowledge across the globe to ensure the preservation of faith and a dignified, honorable future for the next generation. He said that the Islamic centers in the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Pakistan serve as knowledge hubs. In addition, the movement has launched a campaign to make every home a center of knowledge. The aim is to protect individuals from the onslaught of secularism and blind materialism and to connect them with the Prophetic mission.
Among those present at the session were Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (Chairman, Supreme Council), Dr. Faisal Iqbal Khan, Dr. Ghazala Qadri, Khadijah Qurat-ul-Ain Qadri, and Basmah Hassan Qadri. Also in attendance were Allama Shahid Babar, Shaykh Rehan Ahmed Raza, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Qaiser Habib, and Makhdoom Majid Hussain Shah Advocate.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that if one wants to remain protected from the trials of the time, they must be part of a community that safeguards moral character. Merely becoming a member of Minhaj-ul-Quran is not enough—it means becoming an active contributor in spreading the message of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
