The founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, while addressing the first session of the Al-Hidayah Camp 2025 in the UK, said that the Muslim Ummah should remain cautious of self-proclaimed religious scholars and half-educated clerics on social media, whose primary goal is not religion but ratings. He stated that such incomplete and shallow knowledge is creating ideological confusion. Just as no one prefers treatment from quack doctors or unqualified healers, how can religion be learned from such pseudo-scholars?
Shaykh-ul-Islam emphasized that interpreting and explaining Islam is a responsibility only of those who possess authentic knowledge and moral integrity. Deep understanding, discipline, and scholarly continuity are essential for acquiring religious knowledge. Islam is a religion of balance, knowledge, and verified traditions—not of sensationalism.
He further said that Minhaj-ul-Quran is training youth along modern educational lines. The Al-Hidayah Camp 2025 saw a large turnout of men, women, and young people.
Among the participants and speakers at the training sessions were Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (Chairman, Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International), Dr. Ghazala Hassan Qadri, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri, Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa al-Arabi al-Qadri, Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari, Dr. Faisal Iqbal Khan, Dr. Hamza Ansari, Khadijah Qurat-ul-Ain Qadri, Basmah Hassan Qadri, leaders of the UK chapter, scholars from various schools of thought, members of civil society, and representatives of the Pakistani community.
The Al-Hidayah 2025 three-day training workshop is being held at Warwick University in London, with delegations attending from the USA, Europe, the UK, and Canada. The first session witnessed participation from over 1,300 families.
Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK, said that for the past two decades, structured training workshops under the name Al-Hidayah have been regularly organized. Their objective is to familiarize Muslim youth living in the West with various dimensions of the Prophetic teachings.
He further stated that the core aims of Al-Hidayah include combating extremist ideologies born out of ignorance about Islam, promoting interfaith harmony, instilling respect for the law and religious values among youth, and highlighting the importance of peace and moderation.
