79th Independence Day – Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat
On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, a grand flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat in Lahore. The event was attended by central, provincial, and district office-bearers and workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran and Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, a Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and the national anthem. Following this, the leaders unfurled the national flag amidst resounding chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” that echoed through the air. Participants, holding aloft the green crescent flag, passionately expressed their love for the homeland.
The ceremony was presided over by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. At the beginning of the event, he distributed Pakistani flags and national badges among the participants. He also unfurled a national flag decorated with rose petals, while participants waved flags to the tune of the patriotic song “Jeevay Pakistan.”
Addressing the gathering, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said:
“Alhamdulillah, today we mark 78 years since the creation of Pakistan. This country was achieved through countless sacrifices, and its protection, stability, and progress is a shared responsibility of us all. I urge the youth to secure for Pakistan a strong and dignified position in the world through education, hard work, and unity.”
Prominent attendees included Brigadier (R) Umar Hayat, Jawad Hamid, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Rana Muhammad Fayyaz, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Sardar Umar Daraz, Naeemuddin Chaudhry Advocate, Tayyab Zia, Mushtaq Ahmad, Usama Mushtaq, Abid Bashir, Sarfraz Khan, among others.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the prosperity, peace, and security of Pakistan.
